Rites & tradition

The episode gives an insight into the rites and traditions of the traditional community in Münster.

Sharon Fehr, the chair of the community, talks about Shabbat, the synagogue as a building, and praying together in Hebrew. The episode accompanies the community’s cantor, Yotam Alon, as he recites from the Torah and shows the preparations for Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. Margarita Voloj, a long-time member of the community, explains traditions and commandments regarding food, and how kosher food is for her part of Jewish identity.
